Pamukkale 1 Day Tour from Side
Opis wycieczki:
Lots of people call Pamukkale or “the cotton castle” (from Turkish) the name card of Turkey, the eighth non-official world wonder, which is also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monuments.
People say “The one, who doesn’t visit Pamukkale, doesn’t visit Turkey.” And it’s hard to argue with this statement.
It is one of the most popular and most frequently visited places in Turkey, created by the nature. Hot underground waters (the water temperature is 36ºC), while flowing down the hillside, washed out of a limestone the substances, which later remained in the surface in the form of limestone typhus. It created fanciful petrified white cascades, that glitter in the sun.
The shallow pools emerged there, and the healing properties of these waters were known from the ancient times. It is recommended to use the hot springs for treating such diseases like nervous disorders, rheumatism, eyes and skin diseases, indigestion etc.
The resort Hierapolis used to be there, it was repeatedly visited by the Roman emperors. Among all the landmarks, the residues of the Roman streets, the Apollo temple, Plutonium, the Roman thermal baths, the amphitheatre and the biggest Turkish necropolis have survived to these days.
In Pamukkale you can bathe in the pearly white travertines and take the bright photos “in the snow” or “in the salt”, as tourists call this place. Afterwards you will have the chance to stroll along the antique resort city Hierapolis.
And you can also bathe in the Kleopatra Pool! It is the thermal pool with the mineral water where the temperature is +36ºC in winter and in summer. It cures huge number of diseases and brings lots of bright emotions!
