It is quite small modern Turkish town situated not far from the place, where previously the ancient city of Myra was. You will visit this antique town, which was founded in the 5th century BC.

The symbol of the city is St. Nicholas Church, which he joined for the rest of his life and where he was buried. Though his relics were stolen in 1087 and moved to the Italian city Bari (where they still remain), the church is the place of pilgrimage for the believers from all over the world. In the Western traditions the image of St. Nicholas was bonded with Santa Claus, and there is his bronze statue in the square.

The unique cave Lycian tombs (the most unusual ones in Turkey) still remain there. The people of ancient Lycia buried deceased high in the mountains. They built the awnings above every tomb, and as a result they got the majestic and quite impressive constructions, which resembles the Greek temples.

Nearby there are the remnants of the Greek-Roman amphitheatre, which accommodated 15 000 people (it still has the terrific acoustic).

The second part of the excursion will take place on board the yacht, that will take you to the Kekova island. There the history and nature are coming together.

After an earthquake, some part of the island sank beneath the sea along with the ruins of the antique city. Lots of the buildings’ remains rise above the sea level. And underwater there are the ruins of the ancient streets, temples, the wide variety of ancient tableware, amphora, other household items and even ancient sarcophagi, which rise above the water in some places.
